Bénédicte Halba, doctor in Economics, is the funding President of the Insitute for Research and Information on Volunteering (iriv) that she created in 1997 with the aim to improve knowledge and practice within the non profit sector. She is responsible for the studies & research of the Institute, for the implementation of its website, for the training programmes and conferences and directs its electronic review the rives de l'iriv.  She has been a lecturer at the University since 2000. She has published several articles and books since 1995 and has delivered speeches in conferences, symposyums and seminars in France and Europe since 1992. She was an expert for the Council of Europe at the workshops Volunteering (1992-1994). She has been a partner of European projects on Lifelong Learning (LLP) since 2000, and has initiated and directed the pionneer project Assessing a Voluntary exerience(Vaeb, 2003) awarded in Helsinki in 2006 - and  several European projects linked to it Va2el (2008), Vab (2009), and Success at school (2012). She was a member of the boards of the Cicos (2007-2011) and the Assfam (2011-2014). She is responsible for a monthly Club she co-created to support professional integration of migrants at the Cité des Métiers of Paris since 2012. She is a member of the scientific commitee of the Swiss Foundatio ECAP since 2015 (www.ecap.ch)
