Richard RoseRichard Rose

Richard Rose is Professor of Inclusive Education and Director of the Centre for Education and Research at the University of Northampton, UK. He has held teaching posts in schools in several parts of England, was head of a school for children with special educational needs and worked as an inspector of schools. His academic research and development work has focused upon children and young people with special educational needs and the support of local communities in addressing marginalisation and exclusion. He has worked extensively with colleagues in Europe and Asia. This work has included directing research into provision for children with disabilities in Ireland, the development of teacher competencies in developing inclusive schooling in Singapore, Armenia and Estonia and the development of awareness of the impact of poverty on educational achievement with colleagues in India. Richard’s skills are in the areas of data collection and management, the development of qualitative approaches for research and the management of evidence based development programmes.
